I finally had a chance to look at the sample AVCD you sent; a very impressive product! It’s interesting that you are offering this format in single session CDs where they can listen to the audio only in their car. That’s a good idea especially since, as I think you told me, most cars have CD players only in Australia

The AVCD features the live audio synchronized along with the PowerPoint/slides.
The AVCD is a near simulation of a live conference presentation, except now you can do this at your convenience on your own computer.

The CD is offered in much the same manner as an "instant recording & copying service", a conference service where you may purchase a speaker or session on audio or video recording from a booth located in the conference area.

Why would the AVCD be good for my conference?

  • This product is so close to the real thing, there is no need to create another "proceedings" product. The benefit for the committee is they can keep the money for other purposes.
  • EverTechnology Meeting Services would prefer to deal with the speakers direct … allowing the committee to concentrate on other matters.
  • The ability to post this technology on the web.
  • Versatility of the product can allow the CD-ROM to be part CD-audio, allowing the user to listen in the car as well as on the computer. (not for every conference)
  • No need to have software run the program... it runs independently!
  • If the conference still prefers to publish the proceedings, EverTechnology Meeting Services would be pleased to provide a bid to publish a digital copy of the proceedings in the format described. History has shown that this alernative is cheaper than printing as well as bringing the conference forward into the "new age".

Why would the AVCD be good for my delegates?

  • For the past 15 years we have been providing our instant tape & CD-audio service. This is the result of listening to literally thousands of delegates from around the world who expressed interest in having the "visuals".
  • The product can be used as a training program for all the staff.
  • The delegate doesn't need to draw charts or write statistics, as it is all on the PowerPoint. No need to make copious notes.
  • If the delegate missed a point, it's on the CD.
  • If the delegate missed a session, it's on the CD.
  • No need for VCRs & TVs in the office, only a computer.

For the delegate’s convenience, the CD is interactive allowing the user to control the presentation. By simply clicking on the play button the delegate now begins to relive the session. As you can see below the user can jump to the next slide, pause the presentation or type in a slide number and be taken directly to that slide. While this is happening the audio is going with the slide!

For your benefit I have pasted in an example of what the user views during a presentation:

There are 2 ways in which this product can be produced for a conference.

Option A - Personal player & computer (AVCD+)

Delegates have the option of purchasing each speaker or 60 minute session on one CD. The CD will have the capacity to play on a personal CD audio player (home & car), plus the ability to play through a computer’s CD drive, which will allow the viewing of the slides.

Option B - Computer only (AVCD)

Delegates have the option of purchasing a CD with multiple sessions. The product is a "ROM" only, which means it will only play on a computer. The product is produced by stream or by a time limit (ie. per day) and up to 10 sessions per CD. Once the program is determined, we can together decide what is the “best value”.

If the speaker has no problem being video recorded, there shouldn't have a problem with this service.

I have designed the CD in mind for the speaker’s protection. The slides or PowerPoint presentations are stored in such a way that they cannot be copied, manipulated or extracted. PowerPoints cease to be PowerPoints.

The CD itself does not have a print button, which means that no one can print the presentation. The PowerPoints are converted to a series of images, which then get embedded and hidden within the CD.
